Clark (Tom Welling) returns to Smallville re-programmed as Kal-El. Intent on fulfilling his destiny, Kal-El takes to the skies to steal a powerful kryptonite crystal. Determined to save her son, Martha (Annette O'Toole) turns to Dr. Swann's emissary, Bridgette Crosby (Margot Kidder, Superman), and learns about a surprising new form of kryptonite. Meanwhile, Lois Lane (Erica Durance) comes to town to investigate the murder of her cousin Chloe (Allison Mack). Also, Lana (Kristin Kreuk) returns from Paris with a new attitude and a new boyfriend (Jensen Ackles, Dark Angel), Jonathan (John Schneider) lies in a coma, and Lionel (John Glover) faces a grim new life in prison. |

The mystery surrounding Chloe's death deepens as Clark and Lois investigate, discovering that Lex Luthor and Lois' Dad, General Sam Lane are somehow involved. Lana returns to Smallville after finding out that the symbol that appeared on her back in Paris is also on the cave wall. Meanwhile, Lionel Luthor prepares for his murder trial. |

Without the approval of his father, Clark kicks off Senior Year by trying out for the Smallville High Football Team, who are now coached by Jason Teague. Former acne ridden nerd, Abigail, returns from the summer looking beautiful after some Kryptonite powered plastic surgery that spells trouble for Lana and a former tormentor. Martha accepts a job managing the Talon while Lois starts working for the Torch and gets just a little closer to Clark. |

The Smallville High cheerleaders create a love potion using Kryptonite that makes their football player boyfriends completely infatuated with them. This spells trouble for Clark when Chloe drinks the potion and completely devotes herself to him. Meanwhile, Lex is doing his best to win back Clark's friendship. |

A mysterious bookie with powers of manipulation has a strange, even dangerous, effect on Clark and his friends. Meanwhile, Lex causes friction by using his influence on Jason and Lana's relationship. |

As Clark and Lois arrange a surprise 18th birthday party for Chloe, Lana receives a mysterious book that belonged to her French ancestor Isabelle, who was burned as a witch in the 1600's. Through the book, Isabelle possesses Lana's body and she resurrects two other witches in the bodies of Chloe and Lois. The trio set about tracking down the Kryptonian Stones, spelling trouble for Jason, Lex and Clark. |

Lex gets wrapped up in a sex / murder scandal. Clark gets Lionel's help to get Lex out of trouble. Lana meets Jason's mother, whom she has seen before in a dream, which was set in the 1600's. |

Alicia Baker returns, and with the help of Red Kryptonite, elopes in Las Vegas with Clark. Lana offers a sexual relationship to Jason in an attempt to win him back. Lionel comes back to Lex with a peace offering. |

Clark (Tom Welling) has big concerns after his new g-friend, Alicia (guest star Sarah Carter) becomes the prime suspect in a brutal attack against Lana (Kristin Kreuk) and Jason (Jensen Ackles). Clark initially defends Alicia, but when the evidence begins to pile up he is forced to take a hard truthful look at the situation. Hurt by Clark's actions, Alicia forces Clark to unknowingly reveal his powers in front of Chloe (Allison Mack). Meanwhile, Jason's mother (guest star Jane Seymour) returns to town with an offer for Lex (Michael Rosenbaum). |

Clark is wooed by the offer of a Football scholarship from Metropolis University but faces a dilemma over whether he should accept, knowing he has such an advantage on the field. In the meantime, Lois is implicated in the death of a member of the Football team. |

While driving, Lois (Erica Durance) accidentally hits a dog and she brings it back to the farm to heal. Clark (Tom Welling) realizes this is no ordinary dog after the pup lifts up a car to retrieve a ball. Clark and Lois learn the dog is a product of an aborted LuthorCorp experiment and is being used to commit crimes, but when Lois is kidnapped by the robbers and Clark is weakened by kryptonite, it is up to the dog to save them. Meanwhile, Lana (Kristin Kreuk) questions Jason's (Jensen Ackles) involvement in his mother's (guest star Jane Seymour) schemes. |

| Episode 15: Sacred |

The metallic disc is returned to Clark following the death of Virgil Swann. Placing the disc in the cave reveals a message from Jor-El instructing Clark to find the Kryptonian knowledge crystals. The message goes on to tell Clark that allowing a human to assemble the crystals could lead to the destruction of Earth and so Clark joins Lana, Lex and Jason on a hunt for one of the crystals in China. |

| Episode 16: Lucy |

Lois' sister, Lucy, arrives on the Kent Farm after she ran away from boarding school in Switzerland because she owed $50,000 to a loan shark. She enlists the help of Clark, Lois and Lex to deal with the Loan Shark, but everything isn't quite what it seems. Meanwhile, Lana's apartment is broken in to, only one thing is missing; The Kryptonian Knowledge Crystal. |

A glimpse of the future Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) is revealed after a kryptonite explosion splits Lex in two and his evil side - Alexander - is released. Alexander immediately imprisons Lex in the mansion and begins his rampage by trying to kill Clark (Tom Welling) and Chloe (Allison Mack) in the lab, jousting with Lionel (John Glover) and convincing him to return to the dark side and finally, threatening to close the Talon unless Lana (Kristin Kreuk) moves in with him. |

It's the day before the Prom and would be Prom Queen, Dawn Stiles, crashes her car in to a pile of meteor rocks. Her spirit separates from her body, but she quickly discovers that she can inhabit other people's. Her new found talent leads her first to Martha Kent, then to Lana, next to Lois and finally to Chloe, who is a surprise late nominee for Prom Queen. |

Kevin (guest star), a boy who can cause people to temporarily lose their memory, turns his powers on Clark (Tom Welling) and causes him to have total amnesia. Chloe discovers what has happened and must teach Clark about his superpowers while simultaneously trying to keep him from accidentally revealing them to others. On his trip down memory lane, Clark meets Lana (Kristin Kreuk), falls in love all over again and decides to share his secret with her. Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) takes advantage of the situation and convinces Clark to show him where the three stones are hidden. |

Clark (Tom Welling) and Lana (Kristin Kreuk) discover an abandoned baby in the cornfield and take him back to the Kent farm. However, once the baby ages from a newborn to a 7-year-old in a matter of days, the two realize he is aging at a rapid rate and frantically search for a cure before the disease kills him. Meanwhile, Genevieve (guest star Jane Seymour) orders Lionel (John Glover) to kill Lana or else she will send him back to prison. |

| Episode 21: Forever |

Clark (Tom Welling) must stop the school photographer (guest star Steven Grayhm) after he sets up a secret simulated high school and begins kidnapping students - starting with Chloe (Allison Mack) - to keep the glory days of high school going forever. Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) and Lionel (John Glover) are kidnapped and tortured by the Teagues in an effort to find the crystal. However, after Genevieve (guest star Jane Seymour) realizes Lana (Kristin Kreuk) has it, she decides to put an end to the hunt once and for all. |

| Episode 22: Commencement |

| When Lana kills Genevive Teague with one of the Kryptonian Knowledge Crystals it triggers a cosmic event that sends meteorites toward Earth and Smallville. Fearing he has a link to the meteorites, Clark goes to talk to Jor-El. Jor-El informs him that his only hope is to unite the knowledge crystals in the cave. With time running out, Clark sets about locating the final two crystals as meteorites reign down upon Smallville. |
